Ya Nasty

"I'll apologize for tonight tomorrow morning." Well said, Tinie Tempah. So chances are, this phrase is a disclaimer placed in direct correlation with my adventure-filled not-real-life of a life (whether this movie would be a cartoon or a soap opera, however, is up for debate depending on the current weekend's events). From 1) scavenging a second-home-status frat house fridge to snatch, microwave, then consume a senior brother's leftover Jason's Deli sandwich... to 2) drawing wall-to-wall sunshine-yellow crayon squiggles on the 25th floor hallway of The Olivia, I feel the constant need to say "oopsies" for anything that happens to innocent, sober bystanders between the hours of roughly 9 PM to 6 AM.

Well, that was a nice interlude into my post dedicated to Nasty Gal. In short, the same principle applies. With this multitude of images and lack of writing, I'll apologize for tonight tomorrow morning. My usual rhetoric will back shortly.

Muse du jour / past 2 months

Due to my "impending grad", I haven't posted since Spring Break. Ouch. My Gmail fashion account inbox now stands at 9,156 new messages. This actually pains me, but better late than never. Meet my newest musegirl, Harley Viera Newton. With her haphazard layering and juxtaposition of drapey silks with faded cottons, she serves as the textbook definition of the style that continues to inspire me: cohesive yet carefree lived-in boho chic.

Here's to you, fashion. Cheers.

Madewell comes to Bird

According to our beloved WWD, J. Crew brainchild Madewell has joined the ranks of Alexander Wang, Acne and Proenza Schouler to extend its offerings toward the heart of hipster paradise, also known as Brooklyn's Bird, with three locations in Park Slope, Cobble Hill and most recently, Williamsburg. Being one of the first retailers in NYC to obtain a LEED certification, Bird kicks off this strategic alliance with a shopping event tomorrow night co-hosted by Nancy Whang of LCD Soundsystem, as WWD proclaims, "Hipsters welcome."

I want dat.

So while I may or may not be able to attend this baller opening event seeing as how Midtown will monopolize my time, a girl can still lust after the monochromatic wonders that (along with Rumi, of course) have inspired a gradual yet soon-to-be-complete shift in my design aesthetic. Let's step outside of the box now, shall we?
